I duly tried that, first calling the shortcut and when that failed running the executable directly from the scheduled task, but was unable to pass any parameters. Absurd as it may seem, a quick search suggests that the only way to run a program with elevated permissions without a UAC prompt is to create a Windows Scheduled Task and run that.
Create the text file run-as-non-admin.bat containing the following code on your Desktop: cmd /min /C "set _COMPAT_LAYER=RUNASINVOKER & start "" %1" To force the regedit.exe to run without the administrator privileges and to suppress the UAC prompt, simple drag the EXE file you want to start to this BAT file.
